Oil Change FAQs

Why is getting my oil changed so important?

Your car’s oil is what keeps your engine running smoothly. It provides much needed lubrication for all of the engine’s parts while it keeps any debris from clogging up the engine’s gears. Once the oil has been used for a while it can get thin or “dirty”. Once it does it won’t be able to keep your engine’s parts running smoothly and this can result in damage to your engine.

When should I get my oil changed?

Your oil change timeline varies on what make and model you own, how old it is, and what driving conditions you travel through. Ford suggests to change your 2008 or newer Ford models every 7,500 miles/six months and your 2007 or older Ford models every 5,000 miles/six-months. If you don’t own a Ford vehicle you can check your owner’s manual for more information regarding its oil changing timeline. In most Ford models you can check the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor on your instrument cluster to get your oil information as well.

Why it's important to get your oil changed at regular intervals?

You want to maintain your vehicle and keep it in great shape. Regular oil and filter changes help your vehicle run with optimum efficiency. When you use the proper grade of engine oil, you can improve your mpg by as much as 2 percent.*
